The house was designed by local Leicester architect, Stockdale Harrison, famous for his designs of DeMontfort Hall (Leicester), Usher Hall (Edinburgh) and Abbey Pumping Station (Leicester). We believe it was built in the style of gothic revival.
The house was built in 1897 and appeared to have come into the Deacon family in 1945. It appears the house was left to Avril Oonagh Campbell Stewart Deacon in 1971, we can only assume by her parents. Unfortunately Miss Deacon passed away in late 2009. This is where and how we came into the picture.
